Marysville Public Schools
Marysville Public Schools, in accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA) 2004 and the Michigan Revised Administrative Rules for Special Education, provides programs and services for students who meet specific eligibility requirements for cognitive impairment, emotional impairment, hearing impairment, visual impairment, physical impairment, other health impairment, speech and language impairment, early childhood developmental delay, specific learning disability, severe multiple impairment, autism or traumatic brain inury. Our District Special Education Department provides a continuum of programs and services for students who are eligible to receive special education services. These programs and services may include, inclusion in the general education setting, resource classrooms, and categorical classrooms. In addition, services from a teacher consultant, speech and language teacher, occupational therapist and physical therapist may be available. The expertise of school psychologists and social workers is also utilized to ensure appropriate identification, programs and services for children from birth through graduation. Our county also provides programs at the Woodland Developmental Center for students with moderate to severe cognitive impairments, multiple impairments, or students who function as if they were cognitively impaired, including some students with autism.
