Matagalpa Tours has acquired a level of consciousness in regards to their role as an influence on the quality of life of individuals, Taking on a process of business growth and continuous personal responsibility for the impacts that tourism could cause at a social, environmental and economic level, to each destination that we visit; our corporate policy is to conscientiously realize this and act in accordance; with respect and in fairness, appropriating the vision of sustainability as a way of life. Our ideology is to be consistent with our sustainable policies, thoughts and actions. This is a summary of our general policies of sustainability and our corrective measures and implemented improvements in the operation and management of Matagalpa Tours, from three fundamental starting points: Environmental sustainability: As a company we have the opportunity to improve resource productivity and to reduce the excessive consumption of all types of products used in our work, especially those that generate waste which is difficult to degrade. Therefore, we apply the principal that "the polluter pays the consequences", and we do that, taking into account the preventative measures and actions for the protection of the environment. Policies of correction and improvement: We act in favor of maintaining and improving the quality of the environment. We try to minimize the sources of pollution, reducing waste generation and actual waste by using water and energy in moderation. As a result, we have taken such steps as: recycling paper; using recycled paper; not using disposable material; using filters to purify water in order to reduce the consumption of plastic bottles; changing our physical spaces so that we don't need to use lights or fans during our working hours, and we make sure that every individual in our team becomes aware and acts in harmony with our principles of sustainability.
