Mid-Atlantic Waste Systems
Mid-Atlantic Waste Systems was founded in 1985 by Rich Hood, working out of a bedroom transformed into a day-time office in Centreville, Maryland. He and his wife, his first office manager and bookkeeper, soon outgrew their modest surroundings and moved the business to Easton in 1988. MAWS further expanded to include a small rental property in Hyattsville, MD. In 1993 they moved from Hyattsville and opened the Clinton, MD location. They added a facility in Ashland, VA (later moved to Chesapeake, VA) and Glen Burnie, MD (later moved to Baltimore, MD). Today they have six (6) full service facilities, including the most recent additions in Bedford, VA and Chester, PA.
