MCCARTAN MULDOON ARCHITECTS
McCartan Muldoon Architects was formed in 2004 by Neil McCartan and Mike Muldoon. Our studio is located on the north western shore of Lough Neagh, at Ballyronan Marina. We have experience in various building types and carry out work throughout Ireland. The practice has experience in the provision of Social Housing projects. We have just completed a small General Needs apartment project at Sunnyside Street, Belfast (April 2010) and we have a Supported Housing Dementia Unit on site at Downpatrick, due for completion in 2011. We are currently working on the design of an urban regeneration project in north Belfast. We have completed a number of volume housing projects in the private sector. Our design vision and experience allows us to meet the de- mands and expectations of our clients with a mixture of innovation, variation and tradition. We have experience in Conservation practice. We are currently on site with Phase 1 of the restoration of St Patrick's Church, Saul, Co. Down, a Grade B+ Listed Building, and also with the conservation of the Scotch Stores complex in Enniskillen for a mixed use residential project. We have designed and completed many one-off residential buildings. The latest project to get planning Approval is at Coney Island, Co. Down. This is a building in two parts. It has a traditional Irish Cottage frontage and a contemporary barn and open plan living area to the side and rear. It will commence on site in September 2010. We also carry out smaller projects such as renovations, refurbishments and conversions of existing properties. These projects are small but can be complex and challenging . We can bring our experience to address the needs of homeowners who wish to improve or future proof their dwellings as an alternative to moving. We have many examples of this and can provide an information pack on the various approaches available. We will also offer a free consultation as part of our 'Home-Made-By-Architects' initiative. We are committed to sustainability and environmental issues and can advise clients on Code for Sustainable Homes, Lifetime Homes and energy efficiency.
