The McWhirter family is still at the head of the company and the vision today remains the same as it was when the company was first started. Our vision is to be the best structural steel company to do business with in the United States. David and Angela saw a need for a completely reliable structural steel fabricator and erector that was built on a foundation of integrity. They proved to be correct as the company grew at a rapid rate based strictly on referrals. "Our clients appreciated the company's integrity and reliability; they awarded us with a lot of work because of this." Along with many other companies in the industry, McWhirter Steel (then D&D Welding) downsized in 2009. The owners recognized the need to stay lean in the challenging economic times. The company survived the recession and the management team began building an even stronger business by ensuring the focus was on our core competency of being the most reliable structural steel fabricator and erector. The owners also changed the name from D&D Welding to McWhirter Steel to better communicate that the company was not just a welding company but a steel company; one that the owners would put their name behind every product and service offered. Since then, the company has been building processes and systems focused on reaching our vision of being the best structural steel company to do business with. From this strong foundation, we are excited to expand our reach and show more clients why we are the most reliable structural steel fabricator and erector. Mission Statement
