Megavar is experiencing continuing growth in design and construct projects and are looking for a Principal Substation Design Engineer to join our team in Hobart or Melbourne. This is a fantastic opportunity for the right person with a minimum of 5 years' experience as a lead protection and control designer. Reporting to the Service Delivery Manager you will be required to: Marketing, bid development and client interface for substation design services Manage conceptual design, detailed design and project delivery in accordance with the businesses objectives for time, cost and quality Provide leadership, training and mentoring to the design team Comply with Megavar's quality standards and technical procedures and ensure compliance of others within the substation design team Monitor, review and recommend changes to Megavar technical procedures and policies as part of our continual improvement program We are looking for someone with the following attributes: Electrical Engineering Degree CPEng and RPEQ would be an advantageous Design experience in Transend and/or SP Ausnet projects is desirable Minimum of 5 years' experience in substation design at a senior level Willingness to undertake reasonable travel to service local and remote clients Comfortable liaising with clients and other team members in areas of development and resolution Sound understanding of OH&S, Quality Management Systems and Safety in Design principles Be able to pass drug and alcohol screening and medical Takes pride in everything that they do and seek to instill these values in others Be self-motivated and a team player who is able to motivate others to share the companies vision for success Can do attitude with the desire to excel Be an Australian citizen or possess a current Australian Work Visa This is an excellent opportunity to broaden and share your knowledge working with the most dynamic team in the industry.
