Melbourne Office Supplies are caring for animals in need by supporting the Lort Smith Animal Hospital, a not-for-profit animal hospital and shelter located in North Melbourne. The hospital has been dedicated to the care and welfare of animals and their owners for more than 70 years. Our primary role is to provide quality veterinary care for over 100,000 lost, abandoned, mistreated, sick and injured animals each year. In addition to this, Lort Smith aims to provide care for animals of people with limited means, promote responsible pet ownership and foster an awareness of animals and the positive impact they have on peoples lives. Lort Smith receives no government funding and as such we rely on the generosity of the community to continue our vital animal welfare programs. You can help the Lort Smith shelter and care for thousands of animals by getting involved in their major event of the year, Stray's Birthday! Strays Birthday is a fundraising event for The Lort Smith Animal hospital and the Animal Welfare League. It recognises the important role pets play in our lives and at the same time acknowledges that for stray pets without a home or family, life is no party. By throwing a birthday party for your pet on 1st September or making a donation to Strays Birthday you will help us raise $200,000 to support our shelter program, providing temporary accommodation, care, treatment and a new home to almost 5000 dogs and cats each year.
