Therefore, the name Mensa is reminiscent of mind, table, month, which suggests a monthly meeting of great minds around a table. Mensa has three goals: To identify and foster human intelligence. To encourage research into the nature, characteristics, and uses of intelligence. To provide a stimulating intellectual and social environment for its members. We provide a stimulating environment for our members. This consists of monthly meetings, monthly magazines, monthly local newsletters, parties, dinners, field trips, regional and national gatherings, internet-based discussions, and special interest groups. These various forums produce an intellectual discourse and camaraderie that cannot be found anywhere else.
