Each of our trained marriage mentor couples are Christians who embrace the Statement of Faith found on this website. However, those couples desiring to be mentored need not make any particular profession of faith to participate in any of the marriage mentor programs and benefit significantly from it. In addition to serving in pastoral ministry in central and northern Indiana for over twenty-five years, my wife, Sara, and I have been involved in marriage mentoring ministry since 2002. Over forty years ago, when we were engaged to be married, we were blessed with wonderful mentor couples who modeled to us what a Christ-centered, New Testament marriage looked like. During our years of pastoral ministry, we found that much of the "fruit that remains" came in the form of married couples that we, in like manner, endeavored to mentor. Now I have the exciting opportunity to oversee the marriage mentor programming of Marriage Mentors. Over the last 16 years I have seen couples enter marriage much better prepared. I have seen many couples strengthen or enrich their marriage so as to avoid divorce, perhaps many years in advance. And, I have seen other marriages spared from impending divorce. At Marriage Mentors we are excited about what the Lord will do in our communities as we partner with pastors, churches, counselors, health care professionals, businesses, social service agencies, and other organizations to "strengthen the foundations" by investing in marriages and family.
