Methuen Youth Soccer Association was established in 1986, so we are celebrating our 25th anniversary in 2011. We are a 100% volunteer run organization bringing the World's game to Methuen, MA. Methuen Youth Soccer Association is a member of Essex County Youth Soccer Association and Massachusetts Youth Soccer. We play our in town games at several fields in the city of Methuen and our travel programs play though out Essex County. Our home field for travel is located at Hampshire Road. We offer soccer programs leagues in the Fall and Spring of each year. During the summer we offer soccer programs through our partner Merrimack Valley Soccer (MVS). This includes in town clinics, HS summer soccer and our clinics at Hampshire Road (in conjunction with Best Soccer). MVS has also run programs for our players in the winter months. Since our humble beginnings in 1986 we have grown to become an organization that services approximately 900 children between our in town and travel programs. We offer soccer programs to children as young as four years old up to twelve in our in town recreational program. We offer U10 thru U19 travel soccer for those who are interested, playing a fall and spring season (except HS age with only plays in the spring). Over the years our travel program has sent several teams to the Essex County tournament at the Pingree School in Hamilton, MA and then to the Mass Tournament of Champions (MTOC). In 2010 our U18 Boys team and was awarded the Sportsmanship Award for their age group at MTOC. MYSA is governed by our established Bylaws which can be found on this website. Our Board of Directors consist of President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, In Town Director, Travel Director, Developmental Director, U5, U6, U7, U8, U10 and U12 Division directors. The Methuen High School coaches are also Non Voting members of the BOD. President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, In town Director, Travel Director and Developmental Director are all elected for two year terms while the division directors are elected for a one year term at the AGM. The executive Board terms are split so that each year only ½ are up for election. President, Treasurer, Travel and Developmental Director are elected one year while Vice President, Secretary and In Town Director would be elected the next year.
