Michael Anthony Estate Agents was founded in 1989 by Michael Anthony Donnachie in Kingsbury Square, Aylesbury. The business went from strength to strength at a very early stage and in January 1991 Michael Donnachie and Paul Swindlehurst opened the second branch in High Street, Tring. The two offices were market leaders in their respective towns and in 1997 the third office was opened in Marlowes, Hemel Hempstead. Within six months of opening in Hemel Hempstead the Michael Anthony office was seen as the market leader; having a larger sold board presence in the town than any other local agent. On the back of the success of their three offices Michael Anthony Estate Agents were anxious to expand further and in 1999 the opportunity arose to purchase a region of the Halifax Property Services. Despite numerous interested parties and offers, Michael Anthony were successful with their bid and in August 1999 took over control of the offices. The new offices increased their business by at least 100% and in some cases by over 500%. The transformation was due to the installation of experienced Michael Anthony staff who in turn were able to initiate the policies and systems that have always proved successful in their offices and created the professional image that in turn leads to recommendations and repeat business. In 2007 the latest office in was officially opened bringing the total to 12 offices throughout Beds, Bucks and Herts and it is the intention to increase the Company further. Michael Anthony's success is down to the hard work of all of its staff in conjunction with the directors, who work on a day to day basis within the offices enabling them to see at first hand market trends and conditions and if necessary adjust systems within the office to suit.
