Midwestern Consulting utilizes Civil 3D to take "lines" on a paper and bring them to life in a model. These models consists of points, grading surfaces, utilities and profiles, which are no longer flat on our screen but alive in 3 dimensions. Building these models allows us to create multiple models of a project in a fairly short period of time and compare them to each other to find the model that best meets our client's expectations. One of the many great tools in Civil 3D is corridors. Corridors allow us to model roads, walks, ditches and more using profiles and surfaces to shape the model as we need to. The beauty of corridors is the ability to automatically update as the designer makes a change to a profile or surface that the corridor is linked to. These changes can occur dynamically - change different parts in our corridor to make different road sections that add or remove walks, use different slopes, or add a wall if necessary. Our clients benefit financially from seeing multiple design scenario options and make further changes as the team sees fit.
