MJLF was founded in 1979 with the expectation of creating a full service ship brokering company. Ultimately this dream became a reality; growing from a staff of six in New York City at its inception, MJLF has grown to be one of the premier ship brokerage companies in the United States. Over the years MJLF has expanded far beyond the traditional core activities of the Spot Tanker Chartering and Sale/Purchase business. Today, MJLF is a leader in the contracting of New Building Ships in all sectors of Worldwide Shipping Markets - Containers, Dry Bulk, Tankers, Off Shore and LNG. Expansion into research, consulting, FFA's, project development, bio fuel, alternate energy and logistics is the path forward for MJLF. The MJLF tradition dates back to The Mallory's of Mystic, Connecticut, who began as sail makers in 1819 and by 1945 had developed into America's largest ship owners.
