Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences

With approximately 13,000 alumni who occupy over 90% of the medical professionals in the health care service across the country, the Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences continues to be a leader in providing an environment that empowers physicians and medical professionals to contribute to the development of the society. Over 13,000 degree seeking students are enrolled in the Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences across our eleven schools - the School of Medicine, the School of Biomedicine, the School of Dentistry, the School of Public Health, the School of Nursing, the International School of Mongolian Medicine, the School of Pharmacy, the Graduate School, the Darkhan-Uul Medical School, the Dornogobi Medical School, and the Gobi-Altai Medical School in four different locations including the capital Ulaanbaatar city, Darkhan, Gobi-Altai, and Dornogobi provinces. The Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences has been recognized by the state in so many areas that reflect our commitment to excellence in education and health care. The Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences aims to complete three core missions including research, education, and social contribution, to respond to the demands of reforms designed to raise their competitiveness internationally by cultivating research-oriented universities. Out of them, research is apt to change in response to global trends. The Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences must introduce the internationally accepted new systems that promote and maintain academic freedom, cutting-edge knowledge of the world, and the best practical use of modern technologies. In order to do so, the university must be a place where academic endeavor can proceed undisturbed, while also providing the merit based employment system, the tenure track system, and the principal investigator system. These tasks can be achieved by faculty members equipped with and alumni community that lies beyond, but another important role in our university is played by talented students who venture out to the realms of science. I also look forward to developing original curricula and joint research projects to attract outstanding faculties and students from universities across the world. We must work carefully with partners in industry and government to provide these reforms that allow researchers and students to make the development in the society, and in the future of Mongolia. As a comprehensive, research-oriented university, the Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences must integrate life sciences as well as social sciences into the undergraduate education, and graduate education programs in ways that equip students with creativity and practical capability. It will offer a variety of learning choices for students to acquire diverse disciplinary knowledge. Thanks also to the many members of the community who engaged with the university, and in doing showed an admirable willingness to devote their energies to pursuing education, research, and social contribution initiatives that attract international attention as well as to foster an atmosphere where students feel safe, and more broadly where they have the opportunity to do their best work with abundant inventive capabilities, we will succeed and, indeed, as the first female President of a national university, I take all these concerns seriously to a core commitment of my presidency. I invite you cordially to join our endeavor and look forward to meeting you on campus! Warm regards,
