Mohawk Electrical Systems
For over 50 years, Mohawk Electrical Systems, Inc. has been supplying OEM manufacturers with high quality, reliable, integrated assemblies that add value to products and simplify the design-to-production process. Mohawk Electrical Systems, Inc was founded by Clarence and Stephen Welch in 1963. In 1988, current president Scott Welch joined the company and became the third-generation owner in 2006. Operating from a 24,000 square foot facility, Mohawk is an ISO9001:2008 registered small business. Mohawk is a premier assembly integrator for large and small companies servicing the defense, oil and gas, pyrotechnic, instrumentation and mining industries. Over the years, Mohawk has built a reputation for the superior quality and reliability of detonator assemblies used in Claymore Weapon Systems, a major segment of Mohawk's business. The bridgewire technology used in the Claymore product has been adapted for commercial electro-explosive devices (EED), a rapidly expanding business segment. By utilizing in-house manufacturing competencies and developing a network of quality component/vendors, Mohawk is positioned to buy components and integrate them into easy-to-install assemblies. This ability to take single source responsibility for subassembly projects has helped shrink capacity restraints and reduce lead times, inventory, and admin costs for a growing number of small and large domestic and international customers including: Day & Zimmerman Inc.
