Morobe Mining Joint Ventures (MMJV) is a 50-50 joint venture between Harmony Gold Mining Company Limited of South Africa and Newcrest Mining Limited of Australia. MMJV was formally established in August 2008 for the purpose of exploring, developing and operating mines in the Morobe Province of Papua New Guinea (PNG). The MMJV covers all current and future mining, project and exploration activities by the two parent companies in the Morobe Province, PNG, including the Hidden Valley Gold mine and significant resource discovery at Wafi/Golpu. Harmony and Newcrest are significant gold producers in the world with impressive reserves and exploration growth portfolios. Morobe Mining Joint Ventures is the collective name for three Joint Venture entities entered into between Harmony and Newcrest.
