Mount Baker Council
For nearly a century, the Mount Baker Council has been providing Scouting programs that develop self-confidence, leadership skills, outdoor awareness and citizenship to over 7,000 youth each year. We are volunteer-driven and are successful because of the 3,700 registered adult leaders who serve at all levels of our programs. The following five key focus areas make Scouting unique: Leadership: Scouting's purpose is to prepare young people for a lifetime of leadership. Achievement: The Scouting experience includes learning valuable skills and achieving meaningful goals. Character: Scouting's lessons last a lifetime. Scouting helps shape and instill in youth the qualities that guide good decision making. Service: The Scout Oath focuses on service to God, service to our nation and to our community. Outdoors: We utilize the outdoors as a laboratory for learning to appreciate our world and our place in it. For more than one hundred years, Boy Scouts of America has provided programs with a singular mission of preparing young people for adulthood, to be responsible citizens and give unselfish service to others.
