The Mutual Fire Insurance Company of British Columbia
Mutual Fire Insurance was formed by 44 Farmers in British Columbia's Fraser Valley in 1902. Today, we not only serve policyholders in British Columbia, but in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario as well. Of course, we provide a full complement of insurance products including Home, Farm and Commercial, but we also offer you something most insurance firms don't: control. Because Mutual Fire Insurance is owned by our customers as opposed to shareholders, people, not quarterly profits, are our priority. It's this ownership that makes a difference. A difference evident in every level of our organization. Mutual Fire Insurance doesn't just review quarterly results. Instead, we look at the long term, and how that might affect the lives of our clients. We plan, inform and stand strong when you need us. Our Board of Directors is nominated and elected by you, our Member Policyholders. Frankly, we think that makes us a kinder, more-understanding insurer. After all, isn't that what you want? Someone who has your best interests at heart rather than the best interests of their shareholders? Insurance is something you buy in the hope that you never have to use it. In the event that you do, why not have the peace of mind in knowing your insurer is governed and managed by homeowners, farmers and local business people like you?
