This is a request from the College of African Wildlife Management, Mweka, Tanzania for you to consider joining the College for your professional and technical training in African Wildlife Management. Why should you choose to study at Mweka? Our college, which was founded in 1963, is a pioneer and lead institution in technical wildlife management training in sub-Saharan Africa. It is recognised and accredited as a centre of excellence in wildlife management training by the East African Community (EAC) and Southern African Development Community (SADC). In 1986 the College was a pioneer environment conservation institution to be conferred the prestigious United Nations Environment Programme Sasakawa award in recognition for its contribution in wildlife conservation and management at a global platform. This award is rarely bestowed to institutions. Since its inception the College has trained over 5,000 graduates from 52 countries worldwide (28 African countries and 23 non African countries). Majority of wildlife managers in Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, Malawi, Botswana, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Ghana, Sudan to mention a few are graduates of our College. Because of its high levels of efficient service to its students and quality training, most of our students secure employment soon after their graduation. Those who pursue Advanced Diploma programmes are easily accepted for master's programmes in the UK and USA. Module are conducted in such a way that practical is given high priority with a focus in wildlife management. Some of our modules are dedicated to equip the students with skills and knowledge to challenge mother nature with 100% practical e.g. wilderness skills in which students hike to the roof of Africa. From the top of Kilimanjaro students are taken to Indian ocean coast for marine ecology, utilization module become an opportunity for students to test wild meat and discuss conservation issues with communities. The training programmes, which are packaged in stand alone modules, offer flexibility for students to design their own study schedules if they are unable to attend full time training. It suits those who can not leave their offices for a long period or those that wish to mobilise fees through stints of time. Why should we approach you as an individual to study at Mweka?
