One of our lawyers, Andrew Chapman, is on the board of directors of the Museum. The current museum was established in 2009 after a major redevelopment of the historic 'Arts and Crafts Building' in Bury. The multimillion pound redevelopment of the Museum was financed by the Museum's own fundraising campaign together with assistance from the Heritage and Lottery Fund. In 2011 the Museum was awarded the Small Visitor Attraction of the Year award for the region. The Museum tells the 300 year old story of the Lancashire Fusiliers and their modern day successors The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers. The Museum follows the Regiment during its service all over the world, including the two World Wars and more recent conflicts. Particular emphasis is placed on the connections between the Regiment and its traditional recruiting areas in Manchester, Salford and Lancashire. The Museum has placed particular emphasis on providing educational facilities for school parties and has provided learning facilities which aim to assist schools with their Foundation Year and Key Stage 1 & 2 History Projects. We are pleased to assist the Museum as part of our Pro Bono scheme. For more information about The Fusilier Museum, please visit theirwebsite.
