Naming'omba Tea Estates

Naming'omba Tea Estates Limited (NTEL) was established by Mr Richards on 1st July 1929 as Nyasa Tea Estates Limitedas a family enterprise. It was then transferred to Mr Christopher Barrow who ran the affairs of the Company till 2012. In that year, NTEL together with its associate companies i.e. Group Holdings Limited and Mafisi Tea Estates Limited became subsidiaries of another sister company in the group which became a holding and management company, the Group Developments Limited(GDL). In the year 2012 Mr.C Barrow sold majority stake of GDL to O & G Investment Ltd and later in the year 2014 Gillanders Arbuthnot & Co. Ltd of Kothari Groupbased in Kolkata, India acquired 100% stake of GDL from NBS Bank through its wholly owned subsidiary in Mauritius, Gillanders Holding (Mauritius) Ltd.
