Nawasa
The National Water & Sewerage Authority (NAWASA) Sports and Recreational Club was established in 1982 with approximately 40 members. The Club started travelling in 1988 and hosted the first Easter Festival in 1989. The Club came about as a result of an initiative from the then General Manager Mr. Leroy Neckles who was noted for his sportsmanship. Other workers such as Mr. Julien Neptune, Glenroy Johnson, Edna Pascal, Valerie Stephenson, Raymond Thomas, Donna Latouche and others were instrumental in the establishment of the Club. The Club participated in Inter-sector Cricket and Football games and won the championship in 1983 against Customs. The first Executive President was Mr. Julien Neptune. The Club became a member of the Caribbean Utilities Employers Association (CUEA) in 1989 and has been an active participant in yearly Easter festival over the years. The Club hosted the first ever Easter Festival in Grenada in1989 which was a resounding success. The Club currently has a total of seventy-seven (77) members and has been engaging in several fund raising activities over the years to generate much needed funds. The Clubs' official colours are blue and white. The Annual General meeting of the Club is scheduled for on or before the 31st July in every year for the following purposes: To receive the written Report of the Executive, the Financial Report and the general concerns of the Club To elect the Officers, the Auditors and the members of the sub-committee for the ensuing year To consider any matter, notice of which has been given beforehand to the Secretary. A limited number of Executive Report shall be made available to General Membership.
