Netcare Limited, an investment holding company, operates private hospital networks in South Africa and the United Kingdom. The companys Hospital division owns and manages 55 private hospitals, including 9,052 registered beds across South Africa. This division comprises a mix of full service tertiary, high-tech hospitals, and same-day surgical units. It also provides emergency medical services under the brand name of Netcare 911, which consists of emergency medical assistance, evacuation by road or air transportation, and telephonic medical advisory services, as well as travel advice and trauma support services. The companys Primary Care division operates medical and dental centers and offers managed care services. This division comprises 88 clinics operating under the brands of Medicross and Prime Cure, and 37 pharmacies that form a part of Netcare retail pharmacies.
