We have a fully staffed CAD department that operates on MEP/MEP Revit 2012. The department is headed up by a supervisor with three additional drafters. Our supervisor has been in the sheet metal industry for 20 years. He started as a sheet metal apprentice and worked his way up to field supervisor before coming into the office to head up our CAD department. He has been an employee of NETA for over 15 years. The other employees that work in this department have over 50 combined years of sheet metal experience. All of our drafters are equipped with laptops to expedite coordination in the field. Our CAD software works in conjunction with a specialty duct drafting program called Quickpen Duct Designer 3D. Once the job is coordinated the drafting program uploads directly to our fabrication software and machinery thus eliminating the need for field measuring and expediting material to the site. We also utilize Navisworks for clash detection creating "clash free" projects and eliminating issues with installations. Once the coordination is complete we utilize Trimble software and equipment for the installation of duct hangers. All of these procedures are in place to help expedite project schedules.
