In collaboration with the Joint Occupational Health and Safety (JOH&S) Committee, management is committed to continuously monitoring, creating and promoting a safe work environment by ensuring WorkSafeBC standards are met. Audits are used to measure, share and improve our health and safety program, along with the provision of staff training and orientation; the development and training of related policies and procedures; and the completion of risk assessments and accident investigations. Managers and Leads will be responsible for the health and safety of employees under their supervision, and are responsible to ensure that equipment required for use are safe and that each member of their department/teams works in compliance with established safe work practices and procedures. Furthermore, all ITHA staff are responsible for protecting their own and fellow co-worker's health and safety by working in compliance with all applicable legislation, health and safety regulations, safe work practices, and all relevant policies and procedures established by the ITHA in respect to staff and client health and safety. We recognize that a safe work environment can be established and sustained only through a united effort by all employees and that the assistance of each person is required. In all circumstances every reasonable precaution will be taken for the protection of all ITHA employees as the well-being of every employee and client is our greatest concern. ITHA believes that all injuries are preventable and that excellence in health and safety is the key to our long term success.
