Nigeria Britain Association
The Nigeria Britain Association ("N-BA") was formed in Nigeria in 1969 as a corresponding association now known as the British-Nigeria Education Trust, which is based in the UK and has H.R.H. Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh as its patron. In 2009, the association was incorporated as a Trust, a non-profit making organisation dedicated to developing relationships between individuals and organisations in Nigeria, Britain and the Commonwealth resident in Nigeria. The association also organises social, cultural and business activities designed to bring together friends and associates from Nigeria, Britain and the commonwealth with a collective vision to impact positively on the community. Our key objectives are to: 1. Encourage the exchange of culture and build relationships between Nigeria and Britain 2. Engage in sponsorship for social causes and general public good 3. Build working relationships with government, private enterprises and enjoy reputational benefits. Although the Association has a national outlook, its activities have been primarily focused on Lagos. As part of its development strategy, the Association is looking to expand to all the 36 states in the country and beyond Nigeria. The Association also intends to open bases in Abuja and London with possible chapters in other cities like Port Harcourt, Kano, Manchester and Birmingham. The Association is also keen to put in place a long-term business plan for growth and expansion, in line with the recently developed Carter charter. This will include expansion of its membership base and development of strategies.
