Northside Center for Child Development

Drs. Kenneth and Mamie Clark had a vision for a community in need of comprehensive child and family services. For more than 60 years Northside has been a beacon of light in Central and East Harlem, providing an array of services with attention not only paid to the individual child who is the focus of their work, but also to their families, schools and the community that surrounds them. Northside's holistic approach sets it apart from other organizations. Each day, over 500 children and families walk through their doors to take advantage of their educational and therapeutic services. The Clark's ground-breaking research also helped drive the historic Brown vs. Board of Education Supreme Court decision. Northside is and remains a cornerstone of hope for the community.
