The City of Norton, the smallest independent city in Commonwealth of Virginia with a 2000 population of 3,904, is located in the "arrowhead portion" of Virginia approximately 20 miles from the Kentucky state line and 45 miles from the Tennessee state line. The City is located at 36 Deg 66' 00" North latitude, 82 Deg 37' 45" West longitude, with an elevation ranging from 2,000' to 3,965'.
