Novolyte Technologies is committed to maintaining the highest standards in environmental, health and safety stewardship. This is demonstrated through employee training, community involvement, and investment in state-of-the-art environmental controls. Novolyte Technologies is a member of the Society of Chemical Manufacturers and Affiliates (SOCMA), the Baton Rouge Area Mutual Aid Society (BRAMAS), and the Greater Baton Rouge Industrial Alliance (GBRIA). All production and utility personnel are intensively trained in process safety, risk management, and environmental compliance. The site maintains several emergency response tactical teams (fire brigade, confined space rescue, medical first responder). Key employees are further trained in the operation of all environmental control devices, such as flares, scrubbers, and the waste water treatment plant (WWTP). Novolyte Technologies has implemented a Behavioral Based Safety (BBS) Program and an incentive-based Safety Suggestion Program for its employees to impart continuous improvement at the Baton Rouge site. Notable safety and environmental milestones for the Baton Rouge plant include: The Novolyte Baton Rouge Site has not recorded a lost time injury since 1995 (over 14 years). This puts the Novolyte Baton Rouge Plant in the top 1 percentile for lost time performance across the U.S. chemical industry. For the Novolyte Baton Rouge Site, the five year average total recordable injury rate (TRIR) is less than 1/2 the average of the chemical industry as a whole. The Novolyte Baton Rouge Site has had no air or water releases in excess of a reportable quantity (RQ) since Novolyte began operations. The Novolyte Baton Rouge WWTP is equipped with best available biotreatment technology - and it has not experienced a waste water permit violation since Novolyte began operations. The Novolyte Baton Rouge Site has recorded a multiyear solid waste reduction of over 50%.
