Namib Poultry opened its doors in 2012 as the first poultry farm in the country and strives to be the chicken supplier of choice by providing excellent chicken products to Namibians. For Namib Poultry, this tournament is aimed at sport development in Namibia and community engagement. As part of the companys Corporate Social Responsibility program, it is way of giving back & rewarding those dedicated, disciplined sportsmen & women who support this tournament. The Namib Poultry Gravity Cup is a first of its kind school sports circuit combined with three different sport codes over a period of five circuits. Sport Codes and Age Groups within the Namib Poultry Gravity Cup is Netball, 6-A-Side Soccer and Sevens Rugby within the age groups of U/13, U/15 and U/17. Namib Poultry is very excited to be part of this first of its kind tournament supported by the Namibia Schools Sport Union. The Namib Poultry Gravity cup tournament is a collaborative venture which we hope to grow over the years; with a sponsorship value of N$520 000 to the organizers including the prize money to the total value of N$ 80 000 for the winning schools. The positive experiences that sports and an active lifestyle bring, play an important role in a young persons life. Organized, well-structured youth sports and on-going physical activities can provide many benefits for children and adolescents. We believe through sports, many athletes do better academically, learn team work & problem solving skills, boost self-esteem and reduce stress.
