National Records and Archives Authority

The National Records & Archives Authority was established as per the Royal decree 60/ 2007 issued in the Sultanate of Oman. Its purpose is to organize and manage records and archives. It oversees the development of the field of records and archives, and carries out the technical supervision on organizing, arranging and preserving active and intermediate records across government agencies. By doing so, the authority aims to protect the national heritage, benefit from the archives, encourage scientific research and intellectual and technical creativity, maintain the abroad records that are related to the country and to enable users to get access to them.
