Oakgrove School
Oakgrove is a special school maintained by Stockport Local Authority. We cater for pupils from 4 to 11 years of age with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties. Oakgrove School has 30 places and four class groups; Acorns, Maples, Sycamores and Oaks. We also have a group of pupils who attend Outwood Primary School, a local mainstream school. This is in preparation for a return to mainstream education. We work closely with the Behaviour Support Service and the Local Authority to identify pupils for admission and to provide the support that best meets their needs. We also have links with other schools and agencies to provide the maximum amount of support for our children. Oakgrove's aim is to provide a safe, nurturing and inclusive school where all children have the opportunity to reach their full potential. Our pupils are encouraged to recognise their strengths and develop skills to cope with challenges in a happy, secure environment. Oakgrove and the service form the main provision for SEMH primary children. The school and service work together as one provision to ensure support for pupils in mainstream schools and within Oakgrove. The service also supports pupils on their return to mainstream.
