Oddsocks Revival
Oddsocks Revival are a hardworking four piece funk-rock and blues band in their mid 20's. These Dublin based Sligo musicians have been touring Ireland relentlessly since 2009, putting a unique and modern edge on to a classic 70's rock/funk style. Their use of unusual four part vocal harmonies and four lead vocalists sets them apart, while songs that incorporate soulful yet cheeky hip-hop influenced hooks to a funked out classic rock sound is their niche. "Finely honed musicianship and expertly-crafted song structures are the order of the day" - Roisín Dwyer, Hotpress. To start the New Year, the lads have written some exciting new material and over the coming months they will be back in the studio to lay down the first tracks of a new record. In the mean-time they will be by playing a number of gigs including a very special show in The Workman's Club, Dublin on March 10th. This is a great opportunity for the band to showcase their new material to their fans and critics. Details can be found at www.oddsocksrevival.com or at www.facebook.com/oddsocksrevival. Last year saw the lads record and release their debut album "It's Time". With guidance from producer James Durkin (Sun Studios), they captured the raw energy from their live show and gave it the fine sound of the studio. The album was released last Easter on their own label "Jeanie Mac Records". The album tour saw them travel around Ireland and the UK appearing at festivals including Electric Picnic, Knockanstockan, Sligo Live, Temple House and Sea Sessions. The band toured with Alabama 3 on numerous occasions. This included sold out gigs in Belfast, Dublin, Cork this year and a St. Patrick's Day gig in Camden Town, London last year. They also played for Primal Scream at their after party in the Brixton Jamm (2011 Screamadelica Tour). These UK gigs saw the band gain significant ground. They secured a monthly residency in The Boogaloo, London, played the Cambridge University ball and they have toured Scotland twice taking in the Edinburgh Fringe festival and Glasgow's Stereo venue. "It's Time" has been well received by fans and critics alike and can be bought on iTunes or in any good record store. "The album flows with bluesy streams of adrenaline . . .4 stars" Colin Cosgrove - Heineken Music.
