OKALUX North America
OKALUX originated from the Heinrich Otto KG, a weaving and textile spinning company, in the South of Germany in the 1960s, when the European insulating glass industry was still in its infancy. OKALUX first presented its innovative capillary products for the glass industry at the first environmental trade fair, Reinhaltung der Luft, in Düsseldorf, Germany, in 1966. Based on the name of its founder, Sebastian Otto, OKALUX was then known as Otto Kapillar. Otto Kapillar remained a subsidiary of the Heinrich Otto KG until 1971, when it established its own legal entity and changed the company name to OKALUX. For now more than five decades, OKALUX has made the impossible possible - providing architects and planners with innovative products as well as functional and effective solutions for a wide range of international projects. Visit our reference portfolio to access some inspiring examples of our work. Whatever the design vision, OKALUX develops and supplies insulating glass for light redirection, daylighting, shading, and insulation. OKALUX designs its products with metal, stone, wood and other materials to enhance the efficiency of facades and transparent roofs and to add beauty to interior spaces. All products are passive and require no additional maintenance other than glass cleaner. OKALUX products are both sustainable and sustainably sourced. Visit our product pages for more information.
