Through our public involvement services we help our clients facilitate the exchange of ideas and perceptions so that projects combine good planning and engineering practices, efficient use of resources and thoughtful consideration of the interests of community stakeholders. At the heart of our work is a fundamental commitment to exceptional client service. We are a woman-owned consulting firm located in East Brady, Pennsylvania, certified as a WBE/DBE by the PA Unified Certification Program and a number of other certifying bodies in surrounding states. We have managed public outreach projects throughout the state of Pennsylvania and with a vast array of transportation and governmental agencies. Ultimately, we strive to help our governmental agencies and private-sector clients avoid the costly effects of unresolved issues and problems within communities. Through needs assessments and forums, which allow issue identification, we work to assure involvement of key stakeholders at a level that encourages the development of mutually acceptable solutions that promote citizen ownership. Our staff's technical specialties cover transportation and transit, economic and community development, database management and survey research. We understand the varying dynamics and idiosyncrasies of informal and formal networks in rural and urban centers, along with the importance of recognizing the unique features within each community. Our facilitators keep groups on task and on time. We have facilitated discussions within focus groups, small private groups, business retreats to large (300+) public forums. We work with our clients to clarify meeting goals and develop a strategy to meet their objectives. Some meetings by their nature have a higher level of potential for conflict. Olszak facilitators are skilled in consensus building, conflict resolution and mediation. If necessary, we can coach and prepare meeting participants with ways to communicate effectively by offering suggestions about ways to interact together, improve communication skills and manage conflict using a positive approach.
