Onteora Central School District

The Onteora Food Service Program offers students nutritious and reasonably priced meals. Breakfast and lunch are available daily. Every effort is made to bring more nutritious optiions to students so they may form healthy life-long habits. The District's Nutritional Committee, which includes representatives from all constituent groups, has been instrumental in developing a Wellness Policy to help ensure healthy choices and to assist in encouraging the student body to be active. We strive to help students make the right food choices. We continue to use whole wheat bread products, including pizza crusts. We no longer serve whole milk, but instead offer healthier choices of either 2%, 1%, and fat free. We are also committed to serving fresh fruits and vegetables whenever possible. When students stay beyond normal dismissal time for academic assistance, athletics, or extra-curricular acitivities, the after-school sandwich program at the Middle and High School will continue to be a quick, healthy option for them to refuel.
