Orca Book Services

The book distribution business now known as Orca Book Services, started in Poole in 1976. Since its incorporation in 1999, Orca has provided its publisher clients with a comprehensive range of distribution services, which it provides to over fifty UK and overseas, general, academic and specialist publishers. From its recently completely refurbished warehouse, Orca handles the despatch of orders for all over the world. Acquired by Marston Book Services in October 2008, the company is investing heavily in dynamic, service-oriented, leading edge IT in order to further improve its efficiency and operating performance. These enhancements come with additional features such as perpetual inventory checking, the maximisation of warehouse storage capacity, improved packing practices (with consequential positive environmental effects) and increased efficiency in order picking, leading to faster despatch times.
