About Ottawa Kent - Ottawa Kent was established in 1973 by Mike and Matt Haverdink's father. Today, the agency employs more than 50 individuals in four locations and conducts business around the state. President Mike Haverdink is a native of Grand Rapids and graduated from Hope College. He currently serves on numerous agency advisory boards. Vice president Matt Haverdink joined the agency in 1992 after graduating from Hope College. Both he and Mike became agency owners in 1996.
