Pacific Southwest Irrigation

Pacific SouthWest Irrigation Corp. was established in the fall of 2003 by Jim Clare, Gary Simas, and Sonny Lucchesi. Clare and Simas had been associated since 1978 when they teamed up to open a branch for Rain for Rent in Stockton. Lucchesi worked with Jim and Gary as an engineering intern and joined them once he graduated from California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo. The diversity of agriculture in California is reflected in the product offerings and wealth of expertise of Pacific SouthWest Irrigation, Corp. Clare and Simas were fundamental in the development of drip irrigation for row and permanent crops. They worked extensively in the improvement of solid set irrigation in regard to application uniformity and distribution for irrigation and germination. Clare invented the portable plastic pipe system for drip and over head sprinklers, known as the Golden 2000 system or Certa Set system. It utilized Certa Lok, the yellowmine pipe, as an alternative to aluminum pipe. Both men had a following of clients and have been consultants to manufacturers and farming operations world wide. Tragically, Gary Simas died in May of 2005 at the age of 58. Jim has since expanded the business geographically and has added staff members who reflect the passion for our industry, work ethic, attention to our clients, and excellence exemplified by Gary. In 2006 Pacific SouthWest Irrigation relocated to their present location at 8372 S. Jack Tone Road, Stockton, California.
