Park Delicatessen
Park Delicatessen is a family owned skateboard, flower and dry goods shop in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. Founded in 2009 in a space formerly occupied by a German delicatessen, the store features decks and flowers nestled aside hand-selected items from local artists and international brands, which are displayed inside the original tenants enamel deli cases. Before meeting each other and marrying here in New York, our lives and careers laid the foundation for the shops creative energy. Valentine, who was born in Hong Kong and raised in Oakland, headed east after graduating from UC Berkeley with a degree in fine art. Channeling her familys haberdashery, she worked as a stylist and fashion editor for Dutch, W and Teen Vogue before launching her own line of womens clothing in 2005. Michaels family has been in the neighborhood since the 1960s. His first skateboard was a Nash. He earned a degree in graffiti and graphic design before working as a window designer for Ralph Lauren, Yohji Yamamoto, and Nautica. We co-manage the brands collective output, ranging from designing collections to photography, as well as lending a hand in arranging bouquets. We still provide flowers to Crown Heights and beyond, but now, Park Deli goods are stocked by finer retailers across the world.
