Pascack Valley Regional High School District
The Pascack Pi-oneers Team is a great example of high school students who are committed to meeting a goal. They are supported by an extraordinary group of teachers and mentors who help make it happen. In our rookie year, the Pi-oneers earned an entry to the FIRST World Championship in Atlanta, Georgia in April 2005. The Pi-oneers continue to build on their foundations, earning multiple awards and recognitions, which are listed below. Participation in FIRST is not only demanding, invigorating and fun, but financially challenging as well. Part of the FIRST mission is to forge ties within the community by having teams cover their operating budgets through corporate sponsorships. In order to have the funding to purchase the robot parts, compete in two regional tournaments, and (hopefully) go to the Championships, we need approximately $40,000-$50,000. Corporate sponsors donate $5,000 and more, however anything you can contribute will make a difference towards reaching our financial goal. Recognition and acknowledgement of corporate sponsors are well publicized at the regional and championship events, on the team website and uniform, and at other activities run by the team. At the end of the year, our team publishes an advertisement in the local newspaper thanking all of those who gave financial support. Additionally, our sponsors are listed on our team's website, www.team1676.com We would appreciate any support you can give us. We would be happy to demonstrate last year's robot or give you an opportunity to speak with Dr. Aarti Mallya, the Regional District Supervisor of Instruction for Science and Technology Education. Please let us know if you require additional information to support our request.
