Pathfinder Cutting Technology
Pathfinder Australia Pty Ltd was founded in 1996 in Melbourne, Australia. Pathfinder's first automatic knife cutting system was launched at GarmentTech '97, Melbourne-Australia. It all started with two engineers in their fathers' factory shed. John Hollo and Ross Kaigg had the vision to create an advanced automatic knife cutting machine enabling manufacturers to compete profitably. Automated cutting system manufacturers at that time were elitist; their cutters were expensive with high maintenance and operational costs. Pathfinder's K-series cutter launched in 1997 by comparison was low cost and with virtually no maintenance or operational costs. The K-series cutter was ahead of its time incorporating features that included: Windows® operating system, user interface positioned at the cutter and facing the cutting area, high efficiency vacuum generator, low noise, reliability, manufacturing/construction techniques designed to minimize environmental impact, comprehensive safety system and single digital operator console- characteristics that have become a benchmark for automatic knife cutting technology today. Pathfinder's first machine installation in 1997 is still in production today, working harder than ever with less than 2 hours of lost production due to breakdown since 1997. Pathfinder has since evolved and grown, operating from a purpose built state-of-the art factory in Melbourne, Australia. Pathfinder employs a team of highly skilled production and software engineers, support and office staff. Pathfinder continues to instil the tradition of outstanding customer support, product quality and technology.
