Pentecostal Tabernacle International
On June 23, 1996, Pentecostal Tabernacle of North Miami was born. With the use of an American Express card, Pastor Robert Stewart purchased some equipment and rented the Miami Inn meeting rooms, where over one hundred people gathered to experience a mighty visitation of the Holy Spirit on that Sunday morning. Easter Sunday 1997, was another milestone in the history of Pentecostal Tabernacle. The service that Sunday was moved to the Miami Norland Senior High School auditorium where over four hundred people assembled to exalt a risen Christ. Pentecostal Tabernacle never returned to the Miami Inn hotel. In March 1998, Pentecostal Tabernacle experienced one more miraculous intervention by Christ Jesus. The congregation was able to purchase a four-acre shopping center complex located in the heart of the community where the Lord had placed us for ministry. Less than two years later, the building of the new sanctuary and educational facility at 18415 NW 7th Ave, Miami Gardens was completed. Over the years, Pentecostal Tabernacle has made many significant contributions to the development of people and the community. The vision and dedication of Pastor S. Robert Stewart has led to the establishment of the annual Focus on Jesus Summit, the Apostolic Fellowship International (created to foster unity among Apostolic churches), the Apostolic Camp International, the Beyond The Veil Retreat, the creating of the Pentecostal Tabernacle LIFE CENTER, which houses the community development corporation CARE Inc., and GED classes. Additional attempts to contribute positively to the community include the launching of PenTab Records, PenTab Academy Christian School, Focus Multi-Media Center (Focus Media) and Pentecost Christian Bookstore.
