Perbanas Institute

PERBANAS is currently an open organization, its members not only consisting of national private banks as at the beginning of its establishment, but also accepting other types of banks such as state owned banks and Regional Development Banks (BPD). The decision for an open organization was achieved during the 15th financial industry. Congress which was held in Jakarta in 2003, taking into account the developments of the financial industry. With open membership, PERBANAS is expected to be the only organization in the banking industry, thus making the banking sector increasingly solid in anticipation of problems that may occur now or in the future. This matter is also in accordance to the wishes of the government that there shall not be too many banking organizations in Indonesia.
