Pioneer Press
Pioneer Press Ltd. is locally owned by the Edgar family, under the leadership of S. D. (Jim) Edgar-President, Glenn Chomin-Vice President and Jennifer Chomin-Controller. We are a medium sized printing company that has been in business since November 1894. It was founded by R. J. Pettapiece, an Ontario resident who had decided to go west to seek his fortune. He started the South Edmonton News and to go with his newspaper he had a job printing department which evolved into The Pioneer Press. Two years later he moved to Revelstoke and sold his business to the McDonald family. The McDonald family owned The Pioneer Press for the next 67 years until March of 1963 when it was purchased by long time employee Jim Edgar and his partner and friend, the late George McEwen. In the following 50 years, Pioneer Press Ltd. has fostered the idea of team players and we have had several employees reach a pinnacle of 30 years or better with our company. We are proud to say that today our team of 20 or so has an accumulation of almost 500 years of service in the printing industry! Benefiting from a very low staff turnover Pioneer Press Ltd. hopes that in the next 119 years of our existence we will continue to attract the very best team members that we can find in order to serve our clients with the quality and service our customers deserve. Our dedicated employees have a common commitment; to go beyond customer expectations by utilizing their ingenuity and innovation in delivering a quality printed product.
