We have developed device-based software and software that runs in the mobile network to make innovative wireless services possible. Our team has the experience of developing software that ensures that an operator's SMS resources are utilized effectively and intelligently and software that enables a company to incorporate mobility into their enterprise applications. Team PlanetBeyond has the experience of developing wireless group messaging solutions, while we also create mobile content and develop the necessary software infrastructure to deliver and charge a mobile subscriber for this content. In a nutshell our wireless experience encompasses the operator, enterprise and consumer domains. At PlanetBeyond Sun's Java technology platform is the tool-box of choice in realizing reliable, robust and scalable software systems. As with wireless, the complete Java technology framework is a core competence at PlanetBeyond. We have developed multi-threaded telecom application servers using Java 2 Standard Edition (J2SE), web based applications using Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) and device based applications using the Java 2 Micro Edition (J2ME). To ensure that we deliver high quality software that 'correctly' meets the needs of the end users (and of course other stakeholders), and does so within agreed timescales, PlanetBeyond has adopted the Rational Unified Process (RUP) as its software development process. For different types of solutions, PlanetBeyond follows customized RUP roadmaps that only prescribe activities and artifacts relevant to ensuring that the software development effort meets its objectives. All systems developed by PlanetBeyond are specified using the Use Case modeling technique, designed using Object Oriented techniques and modeled using the Unified Modeling Language.
