Nowadays PLASMA is a joint stock company with personnel exceeding 1500 employees; it incorporates ten production centers engaged in development and production of science-intensive and high-tech devices including gas lasers, plasma display panels (PDPs) and PDP-based information displays, gas discharge switching and protective devices, as well as consumer goods of a high demand, such as meat-processing equipment, metal-polymer pipes, vacuum and gas-filled double glass panes and so on. The quality and reliability of our products are ensured by more than 40-year expertise in dealing with such demanding customers as defence and aerospace industry, by skilled scientific and technical personnel of the enterprise, by a potent production and technological base. Products and manufacturing methods of PLASMA are used in many countries world-wide including countries of CIS, Europe, the USA, Israel, India, China, Japan and South Korea. The company was the first in Russia to develop and set up mass production of visible and IR emitting He-Ne lasers, and the first in the world to develop experimental samples of plasma display panels which later on were used as the basis for manufacture of flat screens of a new generation - plasma TV sets. The enterprise has developed and is producing cold cathode thyratrons - a principally new type of high power switching devices. Continuing its traditions of innovation, PLASMA,JSC specializes in introducing new technologies in the areas of health care, food industry, construction and automotive industry. The list of laser devices of our production incorporates more than 150 models of He-Ne lasers, metal vapour lasers (helium+cadmium mixture), carbon dioxide molecular lasers (including pulsed lasers with longitudinal discharge, lasers with RF and DC excitation and small-size waveguide lasers), as well as noble gas ion lasers and nitrogen pulsed lasers. Our facility has traditionally become a leader in the developing and producing of hydrogen thyratrons with glowing cathode for working voltages up to 50 kV and currents up to 1 kA, triggered and untriggered spark gaps to protect radioelectronic equipment and communication lines, and spark gap peakers. In 1975 our institute developed a TV-set based on a monochrome plasma panel. It was one of the first TV-receivers based on a flat matrix. The institute then went 10 years ahead in comparison with other companies in the world in the developing and producing of colour plasma panels. It also went 20 years ahead in the developing and serial producing of flat matrix panels with a narrow seal for panel fastening and assemblying of large information displays. In 1990 the institute has developed a colour panel to display television information with diagonal 12 inches, and in 1995 - with diagonal 1 meter. On the basis of monochrome and colour plasma panels samples of flat plasma monitors were created, and their production was started. They do not have analogs in the world. These monitors have high definition and can be used in different application spheres.
