project liberty is an international non-profit organization mobilizing a global alliance of technologists, academics, policymakers and citizens to build a more responsible approach to technology development, including a more open internet infrastructure. digital technology, including social media, artificial intelligence and more, is ubiquitous and changing fast. its impact on humanity goes deeper than we have had time to grasp, and we have an urgent obligation to interrupt this cycle. with mounting implications for individuals, entire generations and democracies, it’s time for society to recognize, consider and re-invent the influence of technology on the world. starting with building a safer, healthier internet. we believe open systems will return the ownership and control of personal data to individuals, expanding economic opportunities for web users and developers alike. we seek to accelerate the world’s transition to an open, inclusive data economy that puts citizens in control
