Prolego Technologies
Prolego Technologies Ltd was formed in June 2005 as a result of a collaborative research activity between Kevin Baughan of Ideas Network Ltd and the Communications Research team at The University of Birmingham led by Dr Costas Constantinou. The company is focused on technologies for the analysis and control of networks. The initial focus of Prolego's activities was in the application of its novel networking concepts to the challenges of the military arena where it successfully completed two research activities with the United States Air Force Research Labs in order to validate its technology. The details of these research activities have subsequently been published by the Pentagon and are available through Storming Media: www.stormingmedia.co.uk (search on Resilient Recursive Routing or Ideas Network Ltd which acted as the Incubator for Prolego). More recently, Prolego has concentrated its efforts on the development of network analysis tools that make use of its unique technology in order to provide fresh insights into the behaviour of networks. By providing a scientific framework for the analysis of network robustness, Prolego's technology can be used to quantify the impact of a specific component on the performance of the overall network - providing people who are managing networks with key information to improve the prioritisation of both near term operational activities and longer term investments.
