But just because we are a for-profit, doesn't mean that we should have any less transparency or integrity than a nonprofit. As you're probably aware, most tech companies take on millions upon millions of dollars from investors to reach profitability. In doing so, they become beholden to providing a financial return to the people and institutions that gave it to them. We only want to be beholden to our users and the organizations we serve. For this reason, Propeller has never received money from a venture capitalist and has accepted a total of just over $100k in seed funding since we started in 2015. While one day it may prove to be necessary to go the same direction that most of Silicon Valley goes, we are committed to trying to maintain this path of independence first, as we feel it is the path that will ensure the most integrity. In other words, we don't want a VC's need to maximize return on investment to take priority over maximizing impact for the causes we support. Our funding comes directly from our users as well as select partner organizations who keep our platform free and accessible to all users. More specifically, here are all the ways we are funded: 01 Our Users MEMBERSHIP We are now offering our community the opportunity to support Propeller through our Propeller Premier membership program, with 100% of contributions used to fund the free services and tools that support our campaigns. These are small, monthly or yearly membership contributions from our community who believe in our mission. We'll be providing members with exclusive reward opportunities and other perks on the platform, and regular updates on our impact. 'PROPELLING' SPECIFIC CAMPAIGNS After completing an action, users are given the option to "propel" the campaign and help it reach more people by sharing the campaign or contributing money. If they make a contribution, we promote it to more users on Propeller and oftentimes through outside promotion as well. Users who propel actions on our platform are able to raise immediate awareness about the campaigns they want to support. 02 Our Cause Partners
